64 popcorns – NOD by Adrian Barnes.

Apocalypse by sleep deprivation. There is a lot to recommend this book, firstly a fascinating subject - the deterioration of humanity. Secondly, it is a classic page turner, with all the pace of a dystopian-infused-survival-horror-thriller ;) There were some really engaging parts but ultimately the main character seemed quite bored by the action going on around him, which had the effect of emotionally distancing me from the horror of his world. There were a couple of try-hard moments from the author too, however, for a first publication this wasn't a bad effort at all and I would pick Barnes up again.
