Embarking on a deeply personal and environmentally resonant journey, "Nest" invites audiences into the expansive and lush St Aidan’s Nature Park to follow Skyler, a 20-year-old attending a bird-watching festival in 2050, in memory of her beloved grandmother. As the story of loss and love unfolds, Skyler, together with the audience, navigates through the park, meeting a vivid array of characters, intertwining narratives and timelines.
Directed by Paul Roseby, this poignant production emerges under the collaborative banner of the National Youth Theatre and LEEDS 2023. Notably, the cast features talent from the Compass Collective, an associate company that actively supports unaccompanied minor refugees and young people seeking asylum through engaging theatre and film experiences. "Nest" weaves storytelling and climate activism, offering a delicate, hopeful dialogue that intertwines personal narratives with the urgent global discourse on ecological crisis.
